Your Visit to the Zoo: A Local’s Guide to the Best Exhibits

[Notes: Your visit to the Alipore Zoo-sights seen; lions what they were doing; tigers; other fierce animals. Birds migratory birds. Monkeys. An interesting visit.]

The other day I visited the Alipore Zoological Garden with my sisters. We first had a look at the lions. Both the lion and the lioness lay basking in the sun. But as soon as the lion saw us he stood up and cast an angry look at us. Then he roared and his loud roar echoed through the whole Garden. We did not think it fit to stay there any longer and went to see the tigers. The Royal Bengal Tiger paced up and down with a proud gait. His look showed his ferocity and blood-thirstiness. We also saw leopards, black panthersand pumas. These fierce animals were very excited and were moving up and down impatiently and growling. What attracted us most was the trigon, the cross-breed of a lion and a tigress. We also saw camels, elephants, giraffes, hyenas,

zebras and many species of deer and antelopes. Next we moved to the area where there were hundreds of birds of various description. What attracted our attention most were the migratory birds which came to the Alipore Zoo in winter and fly out at the approach of summer.

Last of all we visited the monkeys. There were many kinds of monkeys-some little and some very huge. Some were quite tame and took biscuits and fruits from our hands. On the whole it was an interesting and pleasant visit.
