A Visit to a Circus: Paragraph and Short Essay for All Classes
[Notes: Time & place - description of the show: rope-walking by girls, motorcycle ride, dwarf, tricks of animals and wild beasts, show of monkeys behaving like human beings-impression.]Last year the Olympic Circus camped at the Circus Maidan of our town. I attended its first show with my friends. Just at ten past six the show began with the appearance of three girls clad in colourful robes. They walked, ran and danced on a rope fastened to two poles, to our amused surprize. After the exit of the girls a young man came in and started riding his motor-cycle round the ring with tremendous speed. No sooner had the motor-cyclist departed than a dwarfi- sh clown in motley entered and began running round the ring with the pattering sound produced by his mouth. While running he fell down on the ground to our great amusement, but he got up in the twinkling of an eye, and looked as if is nothing had happened to him.

Equally interesting were the tricks of various animals and wild beasts At first an elephant entered with majestic gait, sat upon a tool and drink tea out of a cup with its trunk. After the exit of the elephant two Royal Bengal tigers rushed into the ring roaring. Then a big circle was brought in and the tigers leaped through it one by 4/46 Last of all, we were entertained with the show of monkeys behaving and acting like human beings. They beat drums, polished shoes, cooked food and read newspapers. The show came to an end at 9 P.M. We returned home with mind soaked in joy.
