The museum has several galleries. In each curios are preserved carefully. We visited almost all the galleries. At first we visited the Archaeologicalgalleries. We saw the stone images of the Hindoo gods and goddesses as also the gold and silver coins of the Hindoo and Muslim rulers. But what impressed us most were the headless statue of Kaniska, the greatest of the Kushan Kings, and the statues of Buddha in various postures. They took us back to the dim, distant 6/46 Indian history. In the Zoological galleries we saw the skele, animals of pre-historic time-dinosaur and other reptiles, huge-jawed crocodiles, whales, clephants and horses. These specimensof animals now extinct, enlightened us about the evolution of animals. In one place we saw the Egyptian mummy in a glass box. When I learnt that it was three thousand years old, I was struck with awe and wonder We also visited the gallery where the pots and vessels of the distant past are preserved.
The museum is a great store-house of knowledge. It imparts effective education to the students of history, zoology and fine-arts by presenting to them the objects of ancient times and the arts and crafts of the different periods of history. My visit to the museum was both a joy and an education to me.
