A Film I Have Recently Seen: [Movie Name] Review and Analysis

[Notes; Title of the film; its story-element; the message it communicates; the impression it has left on your mind; outstanding performance of actors and actresses-the director's originality.]

The other day I saw the film titled Macbeth. Its story-element is attractive. Macbeth, the hero of the film kills Duncan and becomes king of Scotland. But he's not happy. He finds himself surrounded by dangers. He puts to death those he suspects to be conspiring against him. At last some lords revolt and with the help of the British army, dethrones and kills him. The message it communicates is that inordina-te ambition ruins a man.

The film has left an indelible impression on me. It's full of action and suspense. Thrilling incidents succeed one after another with tempestuous speed. The witches appear amidst thunder and lightning, the ghost appears, disappears and reappears. One man murders another in the darkness of night. There are also scenes of battles and incantations.

The impressiveness of the film is greatly enhanced by the outsta-nding performance of the actor and the actress who played the roles of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth. The expression of fear and bewilde-rment the actor wore on his face when he saw the airdrown dagger and Banquo's ghost was unforgettable. The actress played her part (of Lady Macbeth) admirably well. Tears rolled down our cheeks when she rubbed her hands and cried, "Here's the smell of the blood still: all the perfumes of Arabia will not sweeten this little hand." Every word she uttered was instinct with a yawning sense of disillusionment and repentance. The director's originality is seen in the manner he showed the airdrawn dagger leading Macbeth towards Duncan's chamber, and the ghost of Banquo sitting on the chair and vanishing in the twinkling of

an eye.
